Comte, Emmanuel, and Anna Kyriazi. ‘Insights into Migration with Macroeconomics: An Interdisciplinary Assessment.’ In: Jordi Caballe, Joan Llull, and Eugenia Vella (eds.), Understanding Migration with Macroeconomics. London: Palgrave Macmillan, 2020.
Comte and Kyriazi use the findings in the volume to gain insights into the best way to connect the macroeconomics of migration with research in history and political science. They show that macroeconomic research could help develop the economic history of migration, the history of the European Union, and the history of the disputes surrounding immigration. Conversely, they propose integrating in macroeconomic analysis the historical and political construction of labour markets. They also detail how increasing politicization of migration in the context of gradually eroding political borders calls for innovative thinking that transcends disciplinary boundaries.
